Madison residents, Brian Glassel and Tim Nicholson started dreaming of opening their own pizza place in 1996.  Both had worked in pizza places for the majority of their teenage and adult lives!  They knew that their passion for good, fresh food and great service was needed in Madison.

On November 5th, 1997 the original Glass Nickel opened its doors in the Schenk-Atwood neighborhood (for those of you new to the area, check out the original store photo above....it has since been torn down). There were only a handful of employees, including Tim and Brian.  With the help of the east siders and a great crew, we quickly grew. Many of our employees who started with us are still in the Glass Nickel Family.  All of our other locations are indepently owned by previous employees who grew to love the Glass Nickel as much as Tim and Brian do!

As we continue to grow, our main goal has stayed the same: helping our neighborhoods, giving great service, and making the best pizza in town! Thanks to all our neighbors who continue to support us, and if you are new to the Glass Nickel, Welcome!!!
